1000 years

Rev 20:4

And I saw thrones and they sat upon them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

One thousand years, Father, to us on earth is quite a long time. I’ve read this before and really had not stopped to think about how long a time that is.
That is a lot of generations. The dictionary says that a generation is “the average span of time between the birth of parents and that of their offspring. “
That certainly can vary in different cultures. In the culture of America, at least in the past, that would be about 20 years; 5 generations in a 100 years. That means 50 generations would be in the millennium.
Actually, there are many cultures in the world where teens and even adolescents have children. If the average age is less, that means there would be more generations within 1000 years.

I remember your promise that “the descendants of the righteous will be delivered” in Proverb 11:21. It makes me very confident to pray for the future of our children’s children and our descendants; for you will deliver them, free them, and provide escape for them from the trappings of this world. I pray that our family line going forward will be a blessing to Our Most High God and King of Glory!

Satan is bound during the 1000 years but released at the end of the time to deceive the nations and lead them to war with God. Rev 4:8 says the number of them is “like the sand of the seashore”. That is an incredible amount of people to really realize the immensity of power coming against the Lord! But what always amazes me is that there is only one scripture that tells of the Lord’s victory over the millions that are coming to war with Him.
:9 “And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them. “
That’s it! No description of the battle, the fight, etc. God zapped them and that was it!

This gives my heart deeper confidence in You, my faithful God. The struggles and problems in this earthly life are not too big (or small) for you to uphold us, deliver us, sustain us, and give us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
You are a Mighty God!

Ps 72:18 Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel,
              Who alone works wonders.
